Important information

Gasworks Medical Practice is a private billing practice. All fees are billed based on the time and level of complexity of the consultations with your doctors. Our practice is equipped with Medicare Easyclaim which gives you the choice of having your Medicare claiming done on the spot—the Medicare rebate is then deposited into your bank account using an EFTPOS card.

If you are unable to make your appointment, we would appreciate you letting us know at least 2 hours before your scheduled time per our cancellation policy. If we were not notified 2 hours prior to your scheduled GP appointment, a $50 cancellation fee will be charged, and must be paid prior to your next appointment.

More information on fees

Discount fee for pension card, health care card holders and children 2–4 years between 8am–5pm Monday–Friday.

Children under 2 years of age will be bulk billed between 8am–5pm Monday–Friday. Children 2–4 years of age will be billed at a discounted rate between 8am–5pm Monday–Friday.

DVA Gold and White Card holders will be bulk billed between 8am–5pm Monday–Friday (outside these hours private fees apply at the doctors' discretion).

WorkCover fees, Implanon insertion/removals, IUD insertion/removals, Mental Health Care Plans/Reviews, iron infusions, procedures and private vaccines will incur higher fees.

TeleHealth appointment rebates do not reflect the same as standard appointments outside of 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. If the TeleHealth appointment is for a child they are required to be with you for the TeleHealth appointment to be eligble for Medicare rebates.

Frequently asked questions

How can I get my rebate?
We are happy to assist you in providing your Medicare rebate on the spot after your appointment via Medicare Easyclaim. After paying the full fee, you have the option of using a Debit card to receive the rebate immediately, or we can send the rebate to the bank account held by Medicare. The rebate will typically take 24 hours to appear and can be followed up directly with Medicare on 13 21 50.
I don't have Medicare. Can I still see a GP?
Yes. If you do not have a Medicare card, you will be charged our private fees. We can provide you with a tax invoice so that you have the option of claiming through any insurance you might have after your consultation.
Are there private health rebates available on site?
We are unable to offer private health rebates for GP consultations. You will need to confirm whether you are eligible for a rebate for these services with your private health insurer.
My child doesn't have Medicare yet. What do I do?
Unfortunately, we are unable to Bulk Bill children 2 and under, who do not yet have a Medicare card, so a consultation fee will apply. We will provide you with the tax invoice for this visit and, once your child has a Medicare card, you can use this to claim your rebate.
